Here’s what I’ll be featuring.

  • Aromatherapy Diffuser Jewelry: ‘Wear your aromatherapy in style’ with a piece of diffuser jewelry. LJ Turtle jewelry is simple to use, stylish, and aromatherapeutic. Choose from earrings, pendants and bracelets.  LJ Turtle diffuser jewelry helps you live an aromatherapy lifestyle – you will smell amazing and feel great. Bonus: Don’t forget to pick-up your FREE Aromatherapy Lifestyle Blend included with every piece of jewelry (see below for description).

  • Aromatherapy Lifestyle Blends: Choose from 3 of my most popular lifestyle blends. Joy supports a cheerful outlook, invigorates and uplifts our thinking and thought patterns. Winter Solstice is one of my ‘change of season blends’; use it to ‘warm’ you when it is chilly outside. And finally, use Four Thieves during the cold and flu season.  It is also a great daytime blend to help you stay focused.  These may be used with your diffuser jewelry or with a nebulizer.

  • Essential Oils: I’ll have a variety of single essential oils to choose from, for your DIY uses.

  • Smelly Dog Grooming Spray: Helps manage the smelliness of your best friend(s). This blend also doubles as a calming spray for anxious canines.  My grooming spray is an effective, easy-to-use, all-natural alternative to conventional pet-store products.  Piper was the black lab for which this spray gets its name (along with some help from an infamous Phoebe Buffay song).

  • Let Me Be • Bug Spray: Let Me Be is a powerful blend of essential oils that have been found to be effective in ‘deterring’ the plethora of insects warm weather brings.  I call it an ‘outdoor meditation blend’ because it allows you to do just that – meditate in peace & calm, free of pests.

I am a Certified Aromatherapist Health Professional (CAHP) with the Canadian Federation of Aromatherapists. I draw on my formal education and knowledge about essential oils, my personal experience using essential oils for my own recovery processes and my intuitive senses when working on developing a new blend.  My goal is to offer therapeutic blends that assist you in practising self-care using the healing powers of essential oils, one day at a time.

DIY: Prevention during cold & flu season

During the colder Canadian months,  I diffuse the Turtle Original Blend Four Thieves in my work & living space daily.  This 100% pure essential oil diffusing blend provides immune system support, while also smelling lovely with its clove & cinnamon overtones and rosemary & eucalyptus undertones.

You can also use the Four Thieves diffusing blend to make an alcohol-free and natural hand-sanitizer; add a few drops to your spray bottle you use for wiping down counters and table tops.  Or, try my Four Thieves air purifying spray which has been blended in a base of alcohol-free witch hazel.

4 Thieves

If I start to feel like a cold or flu is coming on, I use my Bacchus Blues massage  blend on the bottoms on my feet and my ‘Feel Better Sooner’ massage blend on my chest, neck, back and sinuses.

In conjunction,  I also use a couple of ‘home remedies’ that either fortify my immune system so I do not get sick in the first place or if I do catch a cold or the flu, these remedies ease my symptoms and shorten the length of time I am sick.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Sip it straight or dilute it in water or juice, but drink it often throughout the day.  I use Braggs’ Organic Apple Cider Vinegar.  As per their website, this product is  ‘unfiltered, unheated, unpasteurized and 5% acidity. Contains the amazing Mother of Vinegar which occurs naturally as strand-like enzymes of connected protein molecules’.  Click here for more info.   They also provide other suggested uses.

Sea Salt Gargle

If you feel a ‘tickle’ at the back of your throat, always my first sign of potential illness, and after you have had a shot of Braggs’ cider vinegar, gargle with a teaspoon or two of sea salt diluted in warm water.   This will help dry out any existing mucousy habitat.  If I am diligent and do this early enough – I thwart disease.

Onion Cough Syrup

If you have unfortunately come down with an aching sore throat, try my homemade onion cough syrup recipe.  I know this sounds extremely appetizing (not!) but it provides relief and can be prepared easily at  home.

Recipe & Directions

Thinly slice an onion.

Place slices of onion on a flat plate that has a bit of an edge.  Do not stack onion slices.

Sprinkle either white or brown sugar, or both, on onion slices. Be generous.

The sugar will draw out the onion juices – the same way sugar works on less-than-sweet strawberries).

These juices are now your cough syrup.  It is not as disgusting as it sounds and provides a very sore throat some needed relief.
