Safety first, last, and always. An essential oil is many times more potent than the plant from which it was derived.
Unless you have an advanced degree in chemistry, are a medical doctor with the appropriate training or are a practitioner of medical aromatherapy, please, please, do not ingest essential oils.
Rather, drink a cup of peppermint tea as it contains a minute amount of the essential oil (I repeat, minute). Make sure you put a ‘lid’ on it (your tea cup that is), so you do not lose the volatile oils (aka essential oils) in the steam.
Or try squeezing a fresh lemon into your glass of water and enjoy.
Not only will you be ensuring the safe and appropriate use of essential oils for yourself and your loved ones, your supply of essential oils will last much longer and you will be displaying the appropriate respect for these precious natural resources.
